CONSTITUTION AMENDMENTS


All guilds members are presently considering the draft of proposed new constitution which has been circulated .In order to assist in the deliberations
Presidents from each of the 34 guilds in Limerick Federation are invited to a meeting in Woodlands Hotel, Adare on Monday next October 13th at 8.30pm.Federation President Marie Hayes will act as facilitator to the meeting and all views and observations will be explored. Each guild may submit their own proposed amendments for consideration to Central Office, Dublin on or before Monday October 27th 2008. This new constitution, if ratified, will have implications for the future of the organisation and it is important that the views and recommendations of all guilds are considered.


NATIONAL COUNCIL MEETING

On Wed October 22nd the next council meeting will take place in Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, commencing at 10.30am.Each guild is entitled to have one voting delegate present and as many other members as wish to attend. In order to facilitate transport a bus will be arranged from Limerick, subject to sufficient numbers wishing to avail of it. Members interested should contact Anne Gabbett at (087) 6411656 immediately in order that arrangements may be finalized.

UPCOMING COMPETITION

Sponsored by Gempack Foods, members are invited to submit an 8””round light fruitcake using Gempack Gourmet Fruit Packs and their Demerara Sugar.Cakes, together with recipe, to be handed in on morning of Council Meeting in Athlone on October 22nd next and results will be announced that afternoon.



LIMERICK CITY FUNDRAISER

If you’re passing the Augustinian Church in O’Connell Street, Limerick on Friday morning October 17th around 10.00 do drop in for a coffee. ICA members from the city guild are holding a coffee morning /cake sale there in aid of The Blind Organisation. Your support would be much appreciated

WRITE A RECIPE

Most members have their favourite tried and tested recipes ranging from
family favourites handed down or gleaned from one of their many cookbooks. An opportunity now presents itself for of one of your rice recipes to win a prize for you. A recipe for lunch for four persons, using Gempack Long Grain, Easy Cook, Brown Rice, or Basmati Rice is sought. Submit your entry, together with entry fee of €5 per entry, to Federation Contest Sec by Tuesday Nov 4th and you could be on your way to the National Finals at An Grianán in the Spring, so Hurry!!!


QUESTION TIME

On Tuesday Nov 11th Federation Final of forthcoming National Question Time will take place in Woodlands Hotel, Adare.Tables of three (3) members, at a cost of €30 per table, are invited to participate. Please Text your number of teams to Fed Hon Sec by Tues Nov 4th.The winning team will go forward to the national Finals in An Grianán on Feb14th 2009

HALLOWEEN PARTY

Oiche Shamhna is only a few weeks away and the Federation Halloween Party
has been arranged for Thursday Oct 30th .The venue is Woodlands Hotel, Adare
and dinner will be served at 7.30pm sharp, followed by ceol agus craic. The tariff in €30 and tickets should be booked, by text, with Fed Hon Sec ASAP.
