Limerick ICA Ladies enjoying the Sunshine in Co Louth

Quiz Winners Kathleen Griffin, Peggy O Sullivan, Phyllis O Halloran and Noreen Mc Evoy

LIMERICK WEEK:-
An Grianán certainly lived up to its name for Limerick week 2013. Plenty of sunshine every day and the classes on offer were Parchment Craft, Crochet, Your Special Time-look good feel good, Digital Photography and Fit Fun and Active. The Fit Fun and Active group spent most of the time outdoors doing yoga, pilates and various other exercises as well as lots of walks on the beach. The Digital Photography did a lot of work out on Clogher Head and the weather was ideal. We look forward to seeing their works of art in September. As always the food was wonderful  and there was plenty of entertainment each night. The table quiz was won by Kathleen Griffin, Peggy O Sullivan, Phyllis O Halloran and Noreen Mc Evoy (Moyvane).Proceeds from table quiz went to An Grianán. A well deserved thank you to Anne Rowlands who organised the trip and everybody was delighted with the stop at Newbridge Silverware on the way up and also on the return journey.
The week was shared with The Ladies from Kerry and one lady was inspired to write this short poem which captures much of the spirit of a week in An Grianán

The Crochet Class
I joined a class at An Grianán
In the summe3r of 2013
That was a beautiful summer
One that is rarely seen
My class mates came from different places
Our fair country around
From North South East and West
Crochet enthusiasts are found.
And though the sun shone bright outside
Much beautiful work was done
With care and concentration
Being used by everyone.
With busy hands and heads bent low
The minutes ticked quickly by
And many friendships were begun
Under that sunny sky.
And many beautiful creations
Were made by the ladies there
I did not make anything
Just enjoyed being there
And though I came from Kerry
Which is very far to the south
I really had a lovely time
In the Wee County Louth
