COMHBHRÓN

Sympathy is extended to Anne Gleeson of Dromkeen Guild whose father Mr Jackie O’Neill, Ballinlough, Kilteely died recently. He is deeply mourned by his wife Bernie, sons, daughters, their spouses, his grandchildren, extended family and friends. RIP. Following Requiem Mass in St Patrick and Brigid’s Church, Kilteely on Friday November 13 his remains were laid to rest in Hospital Cemetery.

MONSTER RAFFLE


The draw takes place on this Wednesday November 25 in Woodlands Hotel, Adare in conjunction with the Winter Federation Meeting.

Commencing at 8pm, there will be a full programme including announcement of winners of slogan as Gaeilge competition, soft toy entries, and gem pack recipes.

Details of forthcoming Nollag Na mBan lunch at Woodlands Hotel Adare

on January will also be announced as will centenury programme events at local and National levels during 2010.


NEWS FROM THE GUILDS


Knockcarron/Knocklong I.C.A is holding a cookery demonstration in the Community Centre Knockcarron on Wednesday December 2 at 8pm. The demonstration will be given by food journalist, broadcaster, and Ballymaloe-trained cook Caroline Hennessy.

Broadford members are presently engaged in glass painting in conjunction with their ARI neighbours. They are just back from a wonderful day out in Kildare with lots of retail therapy in Newbridge and White Water. On Saturday December 5 Mass will be celebrated for their deceased members and on Tuesday December 8 their Christmas Floral demonstration will take place in the Community Centre. All arrangements will be raffled together with other seasonal prizes. To conclude the year Friday December 11 will see the group making their way to Corbett House, Ballyhea for their Christmas Dinner.



CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES


The new constitution of ICA has recently arrived and is being studied by the members. Among the changes are dates for the holding of Annual General Meetings both at Guild and Federation level (P.6). As and from 2010 all such meetings must be completed before April 30. As the Federation Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday April 28 2010 the guilds must follow suit and

have their own agm’s completed before that date



NEW GUILD


A call to all ladies in the Monaleen /Castletroy area who may be interested in

assisting in setting up a new ICA guild in their area. To explain the matter further an open meeting of all interested will be held on Monday November 30

CHRISTMAS WITH A TWIST

Limerick Youth Centre is hosting a Christmas Cooking Special at their Lower Glentworth Street premises on Thursday December 10. This will be presented by Garrett Landers of Garrett’s Speciality Butchers of the Racefield Centre, Fr.Russell Rd. For a mere €5 you will learn how to prepare a simple and delicious festive meal and the appropriate wine to accompany it. On display will be the jams, preserves and other goods made by the participants on the various training projects around the city. Lest you should forget the details of the event, you will also come away with a detailed information sheet to ensure that you can do as well as Garrett when your day dawns.
