Cappamore ICA members with their winning history entry in Limerick federation

Guild History

During the past year guilds were afforded the opportunity to compile a history of their guild for the year 2008/09. Encouragement towards this project was by way of the Betty Manning Memorial trophy. Six guilds participated from Limerick Federation and they are to be commended for the work and dedication they invested in this piece of history. Each of the submissions was unique offering a picture of ICA activities from various parts of the county during a year in the first decade of the 21st century. Participants included Ballyhahill/Loughill, Cappamore, Castlemahon, Drombanna, Feenagh and Kildimo with Cappamore’s entry advancing to national level. At the end of the day the entry from Wicklow came out on top.

Down Memory Lane

Amateur ICA photographers with their brownie box camera and other models have recorded many events of note and fun in the organisation down through the years. Some of this work may be hidden in boxes or drawers, in attics or under the bed! Start searching as there will be a display of old photographs at the Nollag na mBan lunch on January 6 in Woodlands. Each guild is invited to participate. Please bring along a sample of your guild’s photographs mounted on a stiff background (not greater than 2ft sq) ready for display.
