Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending Jan. 26th

NEW YEAR PLANS:-
All guilds are reminded to put Feb.27th in their diary as this is Spring Federation Meeting .Every guild should  send a few representatives as you will have another opportunity to “have your say” on the future development of ICA. The questionnaire will concentrate on ideas for recruitment as this is the big theme for 2013. March 2nd is National Recruitment Day so all ideas are welcome. In order to encourage debate and discussion Limerick Federation is organising a poster competition and there is no limit to the number of entries from members / guilds. You are asked to make an eye catching A4 size poster in any medium. The theme is recruitment and should be suitable for display in Local Shops, Post Office etc. There is no entry fee so everyone should have a go and bring your entries along to Federation Meeting.

CRAFTS:-
Annette Long, Craft Officer has an interesting competition for all craft workers and it will be judged at Spring Federation Meeting. You are asked to knit an egg cosy and all details are available from guild secretaries. There will be a craft day in The Millinium Centre Raheen in late March and you will have the opportunity to learn Hairpin Crochet and Painted Silk. The date for this craft day will be announced shortly. Limerick Lace Classes resumed on Tuesday Jan. 22nd and continue for nine weeks. There are some places available if anyone is interested in joining and the cost is €90 for the term.

ADAPT  HOUSE:-
Once again Limerick Federation is delighted to have an opportunity to help Adapt House in Limerick. If you have any unwanted gifts of toiletries after Christmas then bring them along to the Spring Federation Meeting and the Committee will make sure they are passed on. Towels bed linen and childrens nightwear are also very acceptable. These can be new or used but in good condition.

GARDENING NIGHT:-
Due to the ever increasing interest in gardening and vegetable growing, Limerick Federation is organising a special Gardening Night on March 19th. There will be no charge so bring along your neighbours and friends. It is open to men and women and it will be followed by an Oíche Gaelach. There will be a raffle on the night to cover costs.

AN GRIANÁN:-
The trip to Belfast is full and all those travelling are asked to bring payment of €130 plus €50 for bus along to next federation meeting or send it on to Anne Rowlands before this meeting.
Names are also being taken for Limerick Week-July 8thto 12th.Twenty places are already booked so don’t delay if you are interested in travelling with the group.
A proposal has been made that ICA members would make a once off effort to clear the debt at An Grianán. All members are asked to pay €1 per month for one year and if this is successful it will clear the debt. The Teachta in each Guild is asked to collect the money and pass it on to Federation Treasurer.
