Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending Jan 12th


BELFAST TRIP:-
There are a number of places available on Limerick Federation trip to An Grianán and Belfast on April 22nd to 24th.
On 22nd The bus will leave The Crescent Shopping Centre Limerick and with one stop along the way it will arrive at An Grianán in time for evening tea.
On 23rd There will be an early breakfast at An Grianán and the group will travel by coach to  Belfast to visit The Titanic Centre and Stormont in the afternoon. Evening Dinner at An Grianán.
On 24th After breakfast the group will leave An Grianán and travel home by The Cooley Peninsula.
Anybody who wishes may stay at An Grianán for the two days and take part in the classes.
Cost €130- stay at An Grianán for two nights
Bus- €50 plus £10 sterling –entry for Titanic Centre.

COFACE:-
ICA National President, Liz Wall is an active member of the Confederation of Family Organisations in The European Union (COFACE).
In association with The Irish Presidency of The EU, COFACE will hold a High Level Conference on “Vulnerable Families – What can Europe do?” on Feb 4-5 2013 in Dublin Castle.
Day 1 Liz Wall ICA President will welcome the delegates and open the Conference along with Annemie Dreskens, President of COFACE.

The Chairperson for the first session is Senator Van Turnhout, Leader of The Independent Group
Among the Keynote speakers will be Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs and Staffan Nilsson, President of The European Economic and Social Committee.
Day 2. Will look at different degrees of vulnerability such as vulnerability due to ill health, mental health issues, disability ,care. Extreme vulnerability- families outside the reach of services and vulnerability due to joblessness and lack of skills.  The final session will concentrate on “paving the way forward “
