Members celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a dinner in Rathkeale House Hotel on 3rd February 1971.

It was with much sadness that the untimely death of Mr John Carroll, Toureen,
Croom was received in his native area of Manister last week. Condolences are extended to his wife Mary, a former member of Croom ICA, daughters Muriel, Alma, and Ursula, brothers, sisters, extended family and many friends. RIP.
John was very well known among the canine fraternity, and a founder member
of an organisation for the rehousing of retiring greyhounds. His colleagues formed a guard of honour as the cortege left St Michael’s Church, Manister, following Requiem Mass on Saturday last January 24th and burial took place in Reilig Mhuire, Croom. Ní imithe uainn ach imithe romhainn.
Sympathy is also extended to Mrs Ann Hickey (nee Sheahan), former Federation President (1984/85) on the death of her husband Mr Paddy Hickey, Drombanna.
He is deeply mourned by his wife Ann, sons Pat and John, daughters Mary, Ann, and Aideen, their spouses, his grandchildren, brothers, extended family and friends RIP His funeral took place, following Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donaghmore, on January 7th 2009 to the local cemetery.

Activity Days
Following on the success of such events held last year two further activity days are planned in the east of the county, details as follows:
Saturday February 21st Community Centre, Cappamore,
Hosts Cappamore.Booking by Tuesday February 17th.
Saturday March 21st Lisnagry National School, Hosts Castleconnell. Booking by Monday March 16th.
Included in the day’s activities (10.00 to 4pm) are yoga, walking, and dancing for pleasure. Please select the venue most suitable to you and forward name and fee of €20 to Sports Officer Mary Blackwell. Catering will be arranged locally at additional charge.
Arts and Crafts
A decoupage workshop will commence in Ballingarry Hall on Monday February 9th from 7to 9pm.All interested should contact Craft Officer Patricia Cronin. Tel No (063) 85116
You are also invited by Patricia to participate in making a shopping bag using any recycled materials except plastic. The finished product, together with fee of €5 per entry, may be handed in at Spring Federation meeting on Wed March 18th and these will be judged on the night.
Arts Officer Breege Murray invites you to design and make an Easter Card
using any medium of your choice. Entries, together with fee of €5 per entry ,may be handed in at Spring Federation meeting on Wed March 18th and these will be judged on the night also.
The results of a writing competition, ‘The Story of Your Life’will also be announced on the same night. These entries, not exceeding 1.000 words, should be forwarded together with €5 per entry to Breege by Friday February 27th.
