Making Plans
As guilds resume after the summer break planning activities is now in full swing for the months ahead.
First off is the forthcoming Federation meeting and events associated with it.
The date of this meeting is Wednesday September 23rd at Woodlands Hotel, Adare.Members interested in art and baking will have lots of opportunities to show off their skills and some are no doubt already putting in that extra bit of practice.
Fed Arts Officer Mary Moloney is organising an art competition ‘My Summer Holiday’ and your entries are awaited. Please ensure that they are submitted to her by Friday September 11th to allow adequate time for adjudication. Mary can be contacted at (083) 3544625 for any queries you may have.
Annette Long (0is also standing by for expressions of interest in her baking competition. Recipes for a lemon drizzle cake has been forwarded to all guilds
and Annette would like to know how many cakes are likely to arrive on the night of September 23rd. Please forward your entry form together with €5 entry fee to her by Wednesday September 16th and bring your cake along for judging to the Autumn Federation meeting by 7.30pm on the night.

The Great Cherry Cake Competition at The Iverk Show in Piltown on Saturday next September 12th.There will also be the added bonus there of rubbing shoulders with King Henry and his fellow Cats as they Purr with pride on their fantastic ‘ Four in a Row’ success!
Halloween Party
As you get your 1940’s outfit and broomsticks ready for this annual social event do take note of the change of date, which is Sunday November 1st in Woodlands Hotel, Adare. Tickets @ €30 at with all guilds and extra ones as required are available from Mary Blackwell, Cappamore.
PRO Training
The first Training session for Guild PRO’s will be held in Cappamore on Saturday October 24th and in Castlemahon two weeks later on November 7th. Guilds are requested to contact Federation PRO Phyllis (087) 2452336 /(061) 393152with their nominations as soon as is convenient.
Table Quiz
Once again the lucky winners of the forthcoming Federation Table quiz will be the recipients of a courtesy week-end at An GrianĂ¡n in 2010.They will have the honour of wearing the green and white for Limerick on Saturday March 13th when they compete with other federation representatives from around the country. The Federation selection process, which takes place on Tuesday November 17th at Woodlands Hotel, Adare, will comprise of tables of three and there is entry fee of €30 per team. Do hurry up and select your guild teams
and inform Annette Long of your intention to participate.
Betty Manning Memorial Book
Two entries have been selected from among those received from this Federation and have now been forwarded to National for further adjudication,
