Condolences are extended to Margaret Anderson Hon Treas. Doon ICA on the recent death of her brother Sean Ryan-Mahoney, Doon South, Doon. He is deeply mourned by his wife Anne, sons and daughter, mother, brothers, sister Margaret and extended family RIP. His funeral took place, following Requiem Mass in Doon Parish Church on Monday February 22 to the local cemetery.

Charity Cookery Demonstration
Knockcarron, Knocklong ICA are arranging a charity cookery demonstration, in on Thursday March 4.The venue is Knockcarron Community Centre and events will start cooking up at 8pm. Admission is €10 and all proceeds are in aid of Haiti disaster fund, Well-known chef Mary Rose Sampson will demonstrate her skills and a raffle for some delicious goodies will be part of the evening ensuring that all palates are well catered for.
Do come along and support this worthy cause.
National Conference
The Spring National Conference of the organisation takes place this Saturday March 6 in Brandon Hotel, Tralee. Registration commences at 10.00 with the opening address by Anne Maria Dennison National President at 11.00.Among the items on the agenda are ICA membership, Development, and Financial Management. Guest speakers include a representative of ESB and The Irish Heart Foundation. All guilds are invited to attend.

On March 8 each year International Women’s Day is celebrated remembering the struggle of women past and present. Starting off the celebrations Bantracht na Tuaithe invite all women to an Ecumenical service in Augustinian Church, O’Connell St, Limerick on Monday March 8 at 11.30 and afterwards to join them for coffee.
Later on in the evening at 8pm Newcastle West Library staff will be hosting their celebrations with an all male cast of entertainers.

Simnel Cakes
Congratulations to the many entrants in the Federation cake making competition recently. Once again the bakers from Murroe came to the fore with Margaret Rabbitte coming in first, closely followed by her fellow guild member Ann Quinlivan and Limerick City’s Ailish Willis. Well done.
ICA Centenary Stamp
Thursday March 25 will see the ICA ‘s centenary stamp ( €0.55 ) going on sale
and will be available from the Philatelic Bureau, GPO,Dublin 1 or on line at www.irishstamps.ieA special first day cover will also be available from that date at a cost of €1.55 including the stamp.
What a nice way to send your Easter cards using the stamp and actually posting them on March 25
Counselling Service
The counselling service has resumed with new counsellor Maeve O’Herlihy. The service available includes provision of a help line Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm (1850652652), 1:1 counselling, workshops and meetings. Maeve will also be in attendance at the National AGM in Woodlands Hotel, Adare on Wednesday

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Eileen Skinner (nee Reidy)
Glenagragra, Athea, Co. Limerick, and Essex, London. A member of Ballyhahill /Loughill ICA, Eileen is deeply mourned by her son Michael, brother Patrick, sisters Kathleen, Josephine and Maureen, daughter-in-law Tess, grandchildren, extended family ,friends and neighbours and all her ICA colleagues. RIP.
She was waked at her residence on Tuesday March 2 and following Requiem Mass on Wednesday March 3 2010 in Carrickerry Church at 11.30am she will be interred in Holycross Cemetery, Athea. Leaba i measc na Naomh.
