Comhbhrón
It was with sadness that her friends, neighbours and ICA colleagues in Clarina heard of the passing of Dina Fitzgerald (nee Downey), Ballybrown and formerly of Shannongrove, Pallaskenry.Dina was member of Clarina ICA for many years until ill health intervened and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her in ICA throughout the Federation. Deepest sympathy is extended to her family and extended family. Her funeral took place on Sunday July18, following Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church Ballybrown( where she was a former  parish clerk), to Kildimo cemetery. Leaba I measc na Naomh.Condolences are also extended to Nora Hennessey of Galbally guild on the recent death of her brother Mr WillieRyan,Galbally.RIP.Solas na bhflaitheas dá anam.
An Grianán
Federation Teachta Helen Lane who had such good vibes from all who attended Limerick Week at An Grianán recently, has already booked for 2011. Mid July is a date to note for your visit to Co Louth in 2011 and a list of available courses will be announced shortly. Suffice to say that the 2010 Limerick Week was an outstanding success with all returning home sona sásta. The absence of one regular visitor from Feenagh was noted and all hope to see her back again very soon.. Well done to Annette Long, Limerick City, Ita Halpin and Kathleen Godfrey, Drombanna and Helen Lane Murroe who did us proud at the table table quiz organised during the week. Beating off stiff competition from some formidable competitors they were deemed winners at the end of the day.  All proceeds were in aid of An Grianán.
Nearly There
Almost 97% of guild membership fees from Limerick Federation have been received and treasurer Mary Blackwell would like to say a big  ‘thank you’ to all who have co-operated so well. Please assist her in reaching the target of 100% by ensuring that your guild has not been found wanting.
Garden Parties
All 350 ICA members who attended the garden party hosted by President Mary McAlleese and her husband Dr Martin McAlleese at Aras an Uachtaráin recently were delighted with the occasion. They celebrated 100 years of ICA in glorious sunshine in ‘The Park’and only wished that more of their colleagues could also avail of this unique experience. Many more made the journey to An Grianán where the annual ICA garden party took place and once again proved so enjoyable with members from all over the country attending.
