You might like to visit Dublin Botanic Gardens, where a travelling exhibition ‘Transformations …..Dublin’ between the Botanic Gardens in Dublin and The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, can be seen between May 4 and June 12. Dublin Castle is the venue for a Public Conference on World Crafts on June 9. Down in Kenmare is an exhibition of Kenmare Lace. Do look out for some of the many interesting exhibitions and events on your travels and share the information with others. 
LIMERICK LACE: What better way to celebrate this year of craft than to learn a new one, particularly one that is an indigenous Limerick craft .A teacher has been identified and subject to interest among members a six week course will be arranged. NEWS FROM THE GUILDS:Ballyhahill/Loughill members are once again celebrating an ICA success.One of their artistic members Pauline Sharpe has achieved second place in the recent National Art Oil Painting Competition. She  will be presented with her prize at the National AGM in Portlaoise on Saturday May21 in the Heritage Hotel and no doubt many of her guild members will be there to support her.
 Caislean Nua Their next meeting will be on Thursday May 5 at 8pm in The Brothers of Charity Premises, Lacey’s Cross near the town. Contact either Rose at (087) 6495911 or Tanith (087)2596448 for further details. Members have decided to opt for the Irish name … Caisleán Nua following in the strong Gaeilge connections of Iathar Luimnigh. Go neirigh go geal leo.
Castletroy members are eagerly anticipating the commencement of Limerick Lace classes to add another skill to their ever expanding ICA CV.
Crecora ICA guild is commencing a six week interior design course on Thursday April 28 at 8pm in Crecora community centre. Fee €15 and both members and non members are very welcome.
Kildimo ICA Painters are finalising their ‘Bóthairín na Smaointe IV’Art Exhibition in conjunction with the Bealtaine Festival which encourages older people’s participation in the arts. This will be held during Mi na Bealtaine  at ‘De Bucket’Pub,Ferrybridge.
 
FEDERATION AGM : Reminder that at the forthcoming Federation Meeting on Tuesday April 26, in Woodlands Hotel, Adare the results of two competition will be announced ……art and breakfast muffins.Items for the Adapt collection will also be accepted on the night.
HOT TIP: Keep a bag of white flour in your fridge and use it in the event of a burn. DO NOT run your burn area under cold water .Just cover the burned area in the flour for 10 mins .Results … no red spot, burn or blister.

COMHBHRÓN: The recent death of Lorrie Crosse, Ballybrown was received with sadness by her ICA colleagues in Clarina ICA and elsewhere. Lorrie always enjoyed the social gatherings of ICA contributing with music or song when the occasion was called for. Her funeral took place on Sunday April 10, following Requiem Mass in her native Ballybrown, to Kilkeady cemetery.Condolenceas to her nieces Martina and Catherine, cousins, extended family and friends on her passing. May she rest in peace.
Sympathy is also extended to former ICA National President Anne Murray
on the death on April 11 of her mother Mrs Enda Daly, Gort ,Co Galway.
