Limerick Federation ICA Notes For week ending August 27th

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

KNITTING FOR THE HEART FOUNDATION
Knitting is”cool” at the moment so do join in the fun. ICA ladies all over the country will be knitting hats and scarves for the Irish Heart Foundation but you must use the special wool and patterns . All details are with the guild secretaries.
CAPPAMORE SHOW
One of the highlights of the year in east Limerick is the Cappamore Show and the ICA ladies played their part with two cookery sessions given by Edward Hayden and two sessions of flower arranging given by Carol O Keeffe and a demonstration of buttermaking by Breda Mc Donald former ICA Bootcamp mentor.
The winners of the craft competition were 1st Anne O Flynn Cappamore Guild- Anne won  The Biddy Mullane Trophy , 2nd Marie O Leary  Castletroy Guild and 3rd Maura Hallam Kildimo Guild.
The standard was high and competition was keen in all competitions and Mary Blackwell Cappamore picked up prizes for a Thank You Card Two heads of Cabbage and Rock buns while Agnes Collins got a first for her scones. Well done to all who took part.
HARVEST FAIR
A big thank you to all the guilds and individuals who gave in groceries jams cakes fruit and vegetables for the ICA stall at Milford Hospice Harvest Fair. Your generosity is very much appreciated
Anne Gabbett, Federation President and her helpers did a good sales job and all were delighted to help out.
HERITAGE WEEK
We should all value our heritage . It is what makes us unique as a people and as a nation. This week is Heritage Week from August 21st to 28thso we hope you all go out and support the events that are organised in your area.
