Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending October 29th


PRODUCE GROUP AND TEST BOOKLET
With the increase in people gardening and growing fruit and vegetables many members will be interested in improving their skills in this area.
In the field of Ireland’s farm, home and garden products and traditional and home crafts, the basic aim of the Produce Awards is to encourage small producers and craftworkers to produce goods of high quality.
Produce Awards Tests are aimed at encouraging individuals to achieve a high standard
The booklet is available from ICA Headquarters and all guilds should have one . It is full of ideas for meetings and classes and will help to keep all members actively involved in ICA.
CONGRATULATIONS FEDERATION TREASURER
There are 561 fully paid up members of ICA in Co Limerick so well done to Mary Blackwell and all guild treasurers for carrying out your work so efficiently.  Don’t  forget the good concessions for members – the participating shops and businesses are worthy of your support.
TABLE QUIZ
The Federation Table Quiz will be held in The woodlands Hotel Adare on Tuesday Nov29. A team of for €20 and guilds can enter more than one team. You can all start preparing now and it is a great way to keep our brains active and improve memory. There will be cash prizes and entries must be in by Nov22.
HALLOWEEN LUNCH
Guilds are asked to text numbers attending to Joan Hayes and send money for ticket to Mary Blackwell before Oct26.
LIMERICK WEEK
Limerick Week 2012 will be held at An Grianán  from July 16 to July 20th inclusive. Anyone interested in going is asked to book early as a lot of names are in already. The classes for this week are : Watercolours,Smocking, Shell Work, Digital Photography, Pamper Me, and Limerick Lace.  Give your name and choice of class to Helen Lane @ 087 2028569.
COLM WILKINSON IN CONCERT
There is a special offer for ICA members to a concert by Colm Wilkinson and he Cork Youth Orchestra in Cork City Hall on Sat. Dec10 and Sun. Dec. 11 Tickets are available from www.ticketgroup.ie and Pro Musica, Oliver Plunkett St. Cork. Orders for ICA members can also be taken at Central Office and the cost for ICA members is €30 per ticket.
FLORAL ARRANGEMENT
The competition for the winter Federation meeting is A Table Centre Floral Arrangement. It will consist of winter foliage ,fresh flowers and a candle incorporated in the arrangement. The maximum size is 18” x18” x18”.

Best wishes to Breda Fitzpatrick of Murroe/Boher guild who is representing Limerick in the final of The Volunteer of the Year at An Grianán on Nov23
Drombanna ICA would like to thank everyon who supported their recent coffee morning for Milford Hospice. It was a great success. €1020 was lodged to their account.
Congratulations and best wishes to Bríd Duggan and John Nash who are getting married on Nov11 . Bríd works in The Woodlands and is always most helpful to ICA when planning events and her mum Kitty is a very active member of Broadford Guild
