Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending June 16th

Some Feenagh ICA ladies and their friends on a visit to the Vandaleur Gardens Kilrush, Co. Clare.

FEDERATION MEETING:-
Limerick Federation Summer Meeting takes place in The Woodlands House Hotel on Wednesday June 20th at 8pm. All members are welcome to come along and meet the new officers. Your views and suggestions are very important to lay the plans for the future. Liz Wall the newly elected National President will attend the meeting so you will have an opportunity to meet her.
MINATURE GARDEN:-
Anne Gabbett, Competition Secretary is looking forward to a big entry in this competition .
All you have to do is make a garden in the cover of a biscuit tin no larger than 12”. Use your imagination and have fun creating something wonderful. If you are entering please contact Anne at 0876411656. Entry fee is €3 and you can bring your entry along to the Federation meeting where they will be judged.
ADAPT HOUSE :-
Toiletries for Adapt House will be taken up at The Federation Meeting on June 20th . ICA are delighted to have this opportunity to help out and your generousity is very much appreciated.
CORRECTION :-
The correct dates for The Christmas Craft Class at an Grianán is Nov13th to15th and the cost is €199.
Please pass this information on to your friends as the details given last week were incorrect.
The following courses are available Christmas Crafts, Christmas Cookery including Recipes for edible gifts, Beaded Jewellery, Ribbon Embroidery, Digital Photography and Facinators. If interested give names plkus deposit to Anne Rowlands at the June Federation Meeting. Anne can be contacted at 087 6968690 If enough people are interested  a special bus will be organised.
AROUND THE GUILDS:-
Crecora- Elizabeth Lahiff reports that Crecora Guild enjoyed a successful and enjoyable year. They congratulate the members who successfully took part in the fundraising walk for breast cancer research. Members enjoyed a visit to “Bloom” The National Garden and Flower Show in Dublin and they take a summer break until September.
Feenagh – On June 4th members of Feenagh ICA and their friends set out in glorious sunshine on a day out along The Shannonside. The first stop was Foynes where the visited The Flying Boat Museum. It is housed in the original terminal building in Foynes and recalls when Foynes became the centre of the aviation world from 1939 to 1945.It is well worth a visit and also has a lovely coffee shop for refreshments. Next stop was The lovely Vandeleur  Walled Garden near Kilrush.  The gardens were originally developed by The Vandeleur Family. A revival project began in 1997 and the gardens were transformed in a peaceful haven for visitors and locals alike. It is surrounded by woodland which is ideal for those interested in walking . To finish off the evening the group retired to The old Stand Restaurant in Seanagolden for a delightful evening meal.
