A TRIBUTE TO ANNE MARIA DENNISON MAY2012
By Peg Prenderville Ballyhahill/Loughill ICA Guild.
The past three years have come and gone and now it’s time to cheer
For Anne Maria Dennison whose term is up this year
She has guided all us ladies through some tumultuous times
It was no bother to her, like singing nursery rhymes.
Chorus
So let’s toast to Anne Maria and wish her all the best
For she outshone all others, this lady from the west.
We are so very proud of her and wish that she could stay
She will never be forgotten by the Limerick ICA.
We celebrated the centenary, she was a guiding light
She showed how strong we women are, on the headlines every night
And the country heard about us and was surprised to see
How influential and supportive the ICA can be.
With her sense of style and fashion we always were impressed
She could always be relied upon to look her very best
Whether at the Ploughing Championships or at a State Occasion
We knew she would present herself without any more persuasion
And now young women are queuing up and knocking on the door
They’ve heard so much about us that they’re crying out for more
We have Bootcamps, we’re on Facebook, and the ICA is tops
And it’s thanks to Anne Maria who pulled out all the stops.
LIZ VISITS LIMERICK:-
National President Liz Wall paid her first visit to Limerick Federation on Wednesday June 20th.She
was warmly welcomed by Phyllis O Halloran and a large gathering of
Limerick ICA Ladies. Liz said she is very proud to lead ICA and to
follow in the footsteps of those great women who kept the organisation
going down through the years. She spoke about the three development
aspects of the organisation which she hopes to concentrate on
1. An Grianán
2. Upcoming training for officers
3. Communication
All ICA members are asked to continue to support An Grianán and also to bring along their friends.
There is something to suit everybody and you will always get a Céad Míle Fáilte so this is the year to make that trip.
Plans are well underway for a new system of officer training where members will share their experience and expertise with new members.
Liz
