Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending Nov 17th


COOKBOOK:-
Don’t forget to vote for the ICA Cookbook in The Bord Gais Irish Book Awards. Just log on to www.irishbookawards.ie and you will find it in The Cook Book section. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday Nov18th and the winners will be announced on Thursday Nov 22nd 2012. The book is moving up so keep so keep it up by casting your vote.

FEDERATION MEETING/PARTY:-
The next Federation meeting is one not to miss. It will be held in The Woodlands House Hotel in Adare on Tuesday Nov27th at 2.30 pm. This will be followed by our Christmas Party at 5.30pm and Dancing from 9pm to 11pm. Tickets cost €30 each and this includes raffle. Tickets are available from all guild secretaries and numbers must be in by Nov 21st to Joan Hayes Sandville, Crecora Co Limerick.
Competition- Rita Horgan has a competition for Federation Meeting . You are asked to bring in a photo in colour or black and white –any size- and the title is “What a Smile” Entry fee €3
AROUND THE GUILDS:-
Castlemahon- There was a full house in Castlemahon for a wonderful demonstration on The Art  of Sugar Paste Icing given by Gordon Shire of Kilcornan. Gordan is willing to travel to other Guilds and his contact number is 087 6844574. The best part of the night was all the cakes were raffled. The Guild has just completed a very busy Autumn Programme. They began in September with Irene O Callaghan and Susan Rawley from West Limerick Resources to update them on the various programmes and courses available to womens organisations. Mary O Riordan Cappagh gave a demonstration on patchwork, showing many lovely items she has made. A course on “Health and Beauty” sponsored by Co. Limerick VEC is currently taking place. The tutor is Gráine Smith who is excellent with tips on make-up, choice of clothes and shoes to suit the individual.
Murroe/Boher
The busy ladies of Murroe/Boher Guild are doing a fund raiser for The Senior Citizens Club in Murroe. They are selling lines for a raffle and would like your support. The prizes are Handmade Patchwork Quilt , Homemade Iced Christmas Cake and A Hamper.
Feenagh- Feenagh ICA are entering the Christmas spirit with An open night of flower arranging and floral art which takes place in The Community Centre Feenagh on Tue Nov4th at 8pm
COMHBHRÓN:-
Sincere sympathy is extended to Kathleen Cunningham of Ballyagran ICA Guild and her family on the death of her husband Myles. Kathleen visited guilds as An Information Officer and is well known as a very active member of ICA.
