BALLYAGRAN CELEBRATES
The ladies of Ballyagran ICA recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of their guild’s formation as they wined and dined in The Mustard Seed in Ballingarry. Among the group were seven founder members, all in high spirits, recalling very vividly the 5th February 1969 and the gathering of about 50 women in the local hall. This was the inaugural meeting of an ICA guild that went from strength to strength, formed close friendships, supported each other in glad times and in sadness, and moved into the 21st century with much enthusiasm. They welcome the re-invention of their organisation, engaged themselves in the proposed changes and look forward to playing their part in the transition.
Well done to those pioneers of 1969,and to the first officers Biddy Vaughan President, Hon Sec Siobhan Quill and Mary Walsh Hon. Treasurer
who took on the challenge. Joining them on their journey down bóthairín na smaointe were Bridie Kennedy, Joan Cagney, Ide Kelly, Shiela Carroll and current President Kathleen Cunningham, all with their own special memories of that very first meeting. Others who became members at a later stage were also in party mood and all look forward to raising a glass at their Golden Jubilee.
PRESIDENTIAL VOTE & CONSTITION
PLEASE return your guild’s completed voting papers to ICA Central Office in envelope provided as soon as possible.
