ICA Travel


Best wishes to those Limerick Federation ICA members interested in travelling to far away places as they sail out of Harwich this Friday on the first leg of their Baltic cruise.

Nearer to home and already a full house is the planned mini coach trip to Yorkshire next month with representatives from approximately twenty guilds due to travel.

On the local scene Anne Gabbott (061) 228017 / (087) 6411656 is finalising a visit to the museum of Mountmellick work in County Laois on Wednesday next

August 26th.If you wish to travel contact should be made with Anne immediately as there has been a keen interest in this visit.

Show Day


The ICA ladies of Cappamore will be putting the final touches to arrangements at their town’s very own long running show, which takes place today Wednesday August 19th. All roads lead to Portnard and you can be assured of a warm welcome from Show Chairperson Marie Hayes and all associated with it.

Having kept the show on the road for 55 years the secret of their success is starting planning the very next day for the following year.
‘My Summer Holiday’

Members are invited to submit paintings for the forthcoming Federation Art Competition, entitled ‘My Summer Holiday’. All entries should be unmounted and unframed, in the size of your choice, using any or all of the following media: Acrylic, oil, pastel, pen and wash, watercolour .All entries, together with entry fee of €5 per entry, should be with Arts officer Mary Moloney, Ballinagarde, Ballyneety (061_450909, not later than Friday September 11th .The judging will be completed and results announced at the Autumn Federation meeting in Woodlands Hotel, Adare on Wednesday September 23rd So dust off the easel and brushes and let the creative juices flow.

Pitch and Putt
Federation ICA Sports and Leisure Officer Kathleen Griffin of Kildimo has finalised the Federation Pitch and Putt team to participate in the National Pitch and Putt finals during sports and leisure weekend at An GrianĂ¡n early next month. The following members have been selected: Ann Marie Collins, Crecora,

Rose Connolly, Drombanna, Kathleen Keyes, Crecora and Carol O’Keeffe, Askeaton /Ballysteen.

Harvest Fair


This year’s Harvest Fair, in aid of Milford Hospice, takes place on Sunday August 30th2009 commencing at 2pm.The venue is at the National Technology Park in Castletroy near the Unigolf Facility. As is customary Limerick Federation will have a grocery stall there and your support for this stall is once again sought. Non-perishable groceries may be given to any Federation member or left in to the Hospice marked ICA.
