National ICA AGM
They have come from all parts of the country to be part of their Annual General Meeting in Woodlands Hotel, Adare. They have come because this is the first AGM under the new ICA Constitution and for the first time in the history of the association is being presided over by a Limerick woman Anne Maria Dennison from Mainistir na Féile. As Anne Maria takes the podium in Woodlands Hotel she will be very much at home, having presided over many ICA meetings there in the past during her term as Federation President. Many tributes are extended to this dynamic lady who will be conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Arts by NUI Galway next month. In the meantime its business as usual with all the necessary accounts submitted for approval, new officers welcomed, roles clearly defined, presentations made to outgoing personnel. Nobody is forgotten and the special birthday of May O’Connor from Castlemahon, who herself held Federation office in the past, was duly marked.
The strains of ‘Slán le Máighe ‘ from the evening before could still be heard as the crowd once again gathered to say farewell to Shannonside and Sweet Adare.
Renewed promises to keep in touch, perhaps meet at one of the centenary garden parties, National Library exhibition,Turlough House or Collins Barracks, or one of the many ecumenical centenary ceremonies before the year ends. One way or another this group of 21st century intrepid ICA women will be in touch texting, emailing, and doing what they most enjoy having a chat ! Slán abhaile go dtí an chead uair eile.
ICA Supports Special Olympics

In thanking all for their support Gaye emphasised how much this contribution means to the holding of the games in Limerick in early June and looks forward to meeting many of the ICA ladies who also have volunteered for the occasion.
