Castlemahon Celebrates
Once again Castlemahon’s May O’Connor was the guest of honour at a party marking her 90thh birthday. May has already celebrated with her family and friends in Meath and West Limerick and with Castlemahon Historical Society of which she is a founder member. National and Federation ICA marked the occasion and her long service in Bantracht Na Tuaithe. This time it was her friends and colleagues in Castlemahon ICA who helped her to blow out the candles at a function at The Old Stand in Shanagolden.Tributes were paid to this remarkable lady who was born just ten years after the ICA was formed. May has held many offices at local, federation and national level, attends meetings of ACWW at home and abroad and is a faithful and loyal ICA member.
Castlemahon’s President Bridie O’Connor made a presentation of a crystal vase, suitably inscribed, on behalf of the guild together with a bouquet of flowers.

Comhgairdeas to Meath and Dublin who achieved first and second places respectively and well done to the team from Shannonside who braved the elements on the day. Such is their enthusiasm that even though the evenings are getting shorter some are still interested in pursuing this sport.
