Condolences are extended to Kathleen Toomey, Kilatal,Ballingarry, who was a long time member of Granagh ICA , and her  family on the recent death of her husband John  RIP. John’s  funeral took place, following Requiem Mass in St Joseph's Church, Granagh to the local cemetery.May he rest in peace.


Winter Federation Meeting
A céad mile Fáilte was extended to invited guests Ms Liz Wall Nat ,Hon Sec and recently appointed CEO of Bantracht na Tuaithe Mr John O’Callaghan to the Winter Federation Meeting in Woodlands recently.As the CEO addressed the meeting on his brief, ,his  aims and objectives ,one piece of news was more than  welcome …the fact that the ICA  has no debts. What a relief in these uncertain times . High on John’s priority list is the Adult Education College at An Grianán. Considerable improvements are planned ,some to be completed before the European ACWW Conference in April 2011.Go neirigh go geal leat san obair atá romhat.
Table Quiz
The final of the Federation Table Quiz, to select a team to compete at National level ,will take place on Tuesday January 30 2011 at Woodlands Hotel,Adare Guilds who intend participating should contact Contest Sec Marie Hayes IMMEDIATELY to  register their team(s)

News from the Guilds
Ballingarry Guild is holding a Christmas Charity Bazaar on Sunday Dec 5  10am to 5pm in Ballingarry Hall. Any unwanted toys, books, handbags, bric-a-brac  would be greatly appreciated Call: Áine 087 6875415 or Yvonne

Drombanna Guild together with the local Community Council
are hosting a Christmas Floral Demonstration on Tuesday Dec 7 ,commencing at 8pm.Cover charge €5 will  include raffle of all arrangements. Do go along to Ballyneety Courthouse  and be assured of a wonderful night.
Mainistir na Féile members are having planting a tree, courtesy of Coillte , to celebrate The ICA ‘s ‘centenary year.
The Tree Planting ceremony will be held on Friday Dec 3 at 3pm in the Public Park with  National ICA President Anne Maria Dennison  performing the ceremony. Anne Maria has been a member of the local guild for many years and despite her  busy schedule keeps in regular touch with her colleagues in Fealeside.
Kildimo Guild’s ‘Killulta ICA Painters’ group held their annual art exhibition ‘Obair na mBan XI ‘in Newcastle West library recently with Federation President Anne Gabbett performing the official opening.
This prolific group have been painting together for many years and held their first exhibition to celebrate the millennium.


Ecumenical Service


A reminder that an Ecumenical Service will be held in St Mary's Pro Cathedral, Dublin on Saturday December 4 at 3pm and all ICA members are invited. T
here will also be a dinner that evening. 
There are still places available for dinner in the Jury's Hotel, Parnell Street, at a special rate of €19.95 and also  limited rooms in the hotel.
