Limerick Federation will host a Cookery Demonstration with Edward Hayden, celerity chef and author of ‘Edward Entertains’ on Wednesday February 23,2011 commencing at 8pm. The venue is Woodlands Hotel, Adare and tickets €20 each are available from all Guild and Federation members.

Spring Federation Meeting

Limerick Federation will hold its Spring Federation gathering on Wednesday February 16,commencing at 8pm in Woodlands Hotel, Adare.Lots of competition results, holiday arrangements etc on the night. All members welcome.

Regional Conference Waterford

The next conference will be held in Tower Hotel, Waterford on Saturday March 12 commencing at 10.30am.Should you require   accommodation do book on line for special rate, and remember to bring your ICA membership card. Enjoy the conference.

News From the Guilds

Ballingarry February meeting was a wonderful success. Theresa Storey-Cosgrave of ‘The Green Apron’ artisan Preserve Company gave a most interesting talk and demonstration of how to make quick and simple yeast breads. All the delights, both savoury and sweet, fresh from the oven, were sampled.  a real taste sensation.

West Limerick Resources will be starting an exciting training programme this Spring in Ballingarry, called OUT OF THE BOX. It covers topics from life skills to craft skills to sustainable living through organic gardening. Caherdavin members extend their condolences to their former colleague and past Federation Secretary Catherine Murphy on the death of her husband Jim whose funeral took place, following Requiem Mass in Christ the King Church Caherdavin, on Wednesday February 2 2011  to his native Tipperary.

Castlemahon members look forward to the fruits of their labour having completed a ten-week gardening course with tutor Marie Tuttle from Limerick VEC. during the winter months.Lots of tips on sewing of bulbs and seeds,taking cuttings( with permission of course !) and  care of gardening tools, Already the bulbs are peeping through and the area should be a blaze of colour to enhance Castlemahon’s Tidy Town entry.
