NATIONAL AGM: This meeting takes place on Saturday next May 21,commencing at 10.30am in Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.To facilitate members attending a coach  will depart Crescent Shopping Centre at 7.45 am. ADARE AREA: An open night will be held on Wednesday June 8 in Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare commencing at 8pm.There will be presentations on various ICA events and activities both from a local and national perspective and also information on new guild formation if such an interest is expressed. All ladies from Adare and surrounding areas are invited to attend.
LIMERICK LACE: An introductory class will take place on   Monday June 13 at Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare  7 pm to 9pm with craft teacher Marian O'Callaghan. NEWS FROM THE GUILDS: ASKEATON /BALLYSTEEN members are planning a day out in the Carlow/Kilkenny area on Monday May 30 and anybody wishing to join them should get in touch quickly as very few spaces left.
BALLINGARRY: Next meeting will take place on Wednesday June 1 and as it is a party night members are reminded to bring along a plate. In lieu of the usual guild competition members are invited to donate a plant and/or book to the guild’s fundraising event for Rathfredagh Cheshire Home Fete.There will be an exciting cake and plant sale on Friday June 3, more details later. The annual guild dinner will take place at the award winning Mustard Seed, on Wednesday May18 at 6.30pm.
MAINISTIR NA FÉILE: Members are once again joining the national celebrations of an Abbeyfeale native. Master wood turner Liam Flynn is one of five artists whose work has been chosen by An Post to celebrate the Year of Craft 2011.Liam has been working from his studio in the town for over a quarter of a century and the recipient of many accolades both national and international. Comhgairdeas to him on his achievements. This set of 55cent stamps have now been issued and are available for purchase.


CAPPAMORE SHOW: Its all systems go for this East Limerick Show which takes place on Saturday August 20 . As ‘ The year of the Craft ’ is currently being celebrated it is intended to present the Biddy Mullane Perpetual Cup to the winner in the Limerick ICA Federation Craft competition which will be judged at the show. The late Biddy Mullane of Adare was an excellent craftsperson who participated in many craft exhibitions and competitions. She was an ICA member for over 65 years and her family, in her honour, and bearing in mind her love of crafts, presented this cup to the Limerick Federation. Members of Limerick Federation are invited to participate by making a tea cosy, in any craft of their choice, and submitting it together with an entry fee of €3 per entry, to Marie Hayes, Dromsally, Cappamore on or before



Friday August 19.As Marie holds both the portfolio of Show Chairperson and Federation Contest Secretary she is more than willing th accept entries at the Summer Federation meeting on Wednesday June 15 at Woodlands Hotel, Adare.
