DOON  ICA CELEBRATIONS
Doon ICA Guild would like to invite all past members to A Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday Nov.10 ,at 7.30pm in The Parish Church and afterwards to light refreshments in The Community Centre.
Please contact 087 9624765 if you wish to attend. Margaret Anderson tells me that they are looking forward to a big turnout for this special occasion.
WANTED
The search is on for the final Hats, Scarves and Mittens being knit for the Heart Foundation .If you have sets finished or if you are still knitting please let Anne Gabett know and she will make plans to get them to Central Office where they will be packaged for sale. Anne also wishes to say a big thank you to all those who did the knitting for this very successful project. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
RENEW AND RECYCLE
Clothes can be renewed and brought up to date by a little effort and skill so now is a good time to start using your sewing skills. Pauline Mc Donagh ,waste prevention officer with Limerick Co. Council has invited ICA to take part in an afternoon of “a stitch in time”. It will take place in the former Ormston’s Stores on Patrick’s Street on Saturday Nov.19 from 2pm to 5pm. Members with sewing skills are invited to take part so give  your name to Joan Hayes 061 355357 or 087 7761349as soon as possible.
HALLOWEEN LUNCH SUCCESS
The Limerick Federation Halloween Lunch was a very pleasant event with over ninety ladies from guilds all over the county in attendance. The tasty meal was followed by an impromptu session of songs and recitations and as usual a few jokes to keep the laughter alive. The winners of the raffle were Marie Hayes Cappamore, Ellen Hennessey Kildimo, Mary Kenny Caherdavin, Cathy Farrissey Feenagh, Betty Flemming Cappamore, Ann Brosnan Broadford, Celest Bartley Oola and Ann Kennedy Caherdavin. Anne Gabbett , The President, thanked all for attending and praised the good work being done by officers and guild members throughout the county.
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Ina Howell of Grenagh Guild in Co. Cork who was chosen National Volunteer of the Year at The Final which was held in Galway on Nov. 4 The event was sponsored by One Direct Insurance and the overall winner along with the regional winners were presented with  a beautiful piece of pottery ,designed by Colm De Ris. This event was followed on Nov 5 by The Regional ICA Conference which was held in The Galway Bay Hotel. The Limerick Federation President and Secretary and a numberof members attended.
AN GRIANÁN
Anne Rowlands, Caherdavin Guild who is the incoming Teachta is just back from a course for Teachtaí  which was held at An Grianán. She came back full of enthusiasm and praise for all the improvements which have been put in place in recent years. A series of Christmas Dinners will be held at AN Grianán  on Dec6th 7th and8th. As well as this De Dannan will be playing in concert ther e
on Wed. Dec.7th so you could give yourself a nice treat with an all in package of concert dinner and overnight stay for  €100
PRESIDENT’S TRIP
ICA National President , Anne Maria Denison  is inviting members to join her on a trip to Lake Garda. It departs from Dublin Airport on Wednesday May2nd 2012 and returns on May 9th. There is limited availability of tickets so people are advised to book early. To book or for more information call012401722.
