AN GRIANÁN VISIT:-
Helen Lane from Murroe/Boher led the first ever Day Trip to An Grianán and it was a great success. Fifty one Ladies left Limerick and travelled by bus to The Educational College in Termonfechin, Co Louth. They stopped at The Midway for refreshments and then on to The Boyne Visitors Centre where they enjoyed an account of the historical Battle of The Boyne. The rain did not dampen their spirits as they sang along with their own musician for entertainment on the way. They arrived in An Grianán in time for evening dinner and the food was excellent. There was dancing to finish off the night and the craic was mighty. Next morning it was up early for breakfast and off to see the new tea rooms and the museum. Then on to Drogheda for shopping and the ladies were delighted with the excellent discounts available when you produce your ICA membership card. Plans are already in the pipe line for next years trip.

RANKS MILLS:-
Ranks Mills (The Industrial Heart of Limerick) is the title of a new book by Dr Edward Whelan which was launched recently by Jan O Sullivan TD in the Civic Offices Limerick. It traces the history of Ranks in Limerick from 1930 to 1983 and gives an excellent insight into the working lives of the people as well as the social and economic history of Limerick in the twentieth century. It is well presented with lovely pictures and it is easy to read.
FRIENDSHIPS REMEMBERED:-
It was with regret that Feenagh ICA members heard of the death of their friend and former ICA colleague Mrs Bernadette Condron RIP. The friendship continued even though she moved to Pallasgreen and later to Limerick. Sympathy is extended to her husband Peter and daughters Felicity and Remonda.
