Limerick Federation ICA Notes Week ending July 14th

HIGH TEA & TALK :-

The ICA has announced plans to partner with the Irish Charity Suicide or Survive (SoS)

The organisations will work together to raise awareness of mental health issues in Ireland and to
educate all generations in matters related to mental health wellness.

Liz Wall, National President, said the aim is to break down the stigma and ICA are very happy to work
with SoS.

Plans are underway to mark World Suicide Prevention Day on Monday September 10 th 2012

Included in the plan is a Nationwide “High Tea & Talk” campaign which will see ICA members host
afternoon tea events to raise awareness and funds. There will also be a flagship event at An GrianĂ¡n
for women of influence.

Caroline McGuigan, CEO SoS said “at SoS we are working to build a society where people embrace
their mental health wellness and those with difficulties are treated with dignity and respect, and
experience a service that offers them hope , a safe place and a positive future.

SPORT AND LEISURE:-

Mary Canty Kilmeedy Guild is the new Sports and Leisure Officer with Limerick Federation and we
look forward to lots of activities in the autumn. Mary will be encouraging all guilds to get out walking
and a number of walks will be arranged in the autumn. Feet on The Street organised by Limerick
Athletics County Board are running a number of events this month so you are all invited to walk, jog
or run and you can register online at www.athleticslimerick.com All walks start at 7.15pm and All
runs start at 7.30p
